Man Crush Monday; Dylan O'Brien

Monday, 23 June 2014

Man Crush Monday; Dylan O'Brien aka Stiles Stilinski from Teen Wolf.

Haven't done one of these in a while, and I thought today would be a good day to acknowledge my love for this guy considering Teen Wolf comes back tonight!!! Who else is as excited as I am?!

So my obsession with Teen Wolf happened last summer just when Season 3A had just started. I think I started watching when 3A had just aired it's 3rd episode. I had seen it on my tumblr for a couple years and it intrigued me, but I waited until I couldn't wait anymore. Main character that intrigued me, this guy!

As you may know from past blog posts, I loved The OC. Dylan's character Stiles kept reminding me of Seth Cohen whenever I would see him on my tumblr dashboard. So finally I made the decision to give this show a try, and I have not regretted it since. I loved it so much that I watched 2 whole seasons (12 episodes each, plus the first three in Season 3; a total of 27 episodes) all within the span of a day and a half! I try to recommend it to anyone who will listen, so I'm recommending it to all my readers. If you end up watching it, let me know what you think!

All this love I have for this show and to think it all started because I wanted to see the character of Stiles Stilinski, a character that I was not disappointed in. He instantly became my favourite character from his first scene! He plays the sarcastic best friend to the Teen Wolf himself, Scott McCall. It's been amazing watching Dylan grow as an actor on this show, his first break into TV. I've not met a person who doesn't love instantly love Stiles Stilinski! That would just be absurdity.

I can't wait to see what Stiles will get up to this season on Teen Wolf. I'm also excited to start reading The Maze Runner so I can see it in September. All for the love of Dylan!

Here's some pictures of Dylan/Stiles throughout the years:

weekly roundup

Sunday, 22 June 2014

It's time for another weekly roundup! Here's a few things I've liked this past week.

First. Frozen/Wicked video.

I loved this video!! It was perfectly in sync with using Frozen characters to sing Defying Gravity from Wicked. Which in the off chance you didn't know, Idina Menzel (voice of Elsa) is the lead singer in Defying Gravity as well.

Second.  Zoe Sugg's upcoming first book.

Ever since I really started to learn more about YouTube, I've come to admire Zoe Sugg aka Zoella on YouTube. She's the one person that I feel like I completely relate to in so many ways. I'd be lying if I didn't say that she was among the many that inspired me to really give YouTube a try. (That's still happening, just on pause due to my room being in shambles).

Anyways, Zoe let us know this week that she's releasing a book on November 25 of this year. It's a fictional novel. Here's the synopsis;

I had no idea GirlOnline would take off the way it has - I can't believe I now have 5432 followers, thanks so much! - and the thought of opening up to you all about this is terrifying, but here goes . . .
Penny has a secret.
Under the alias GirlOnline, she blogs about school dramas, boys, her mad, whirlwind family - and the panic attacks she's suffered from lately. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets the gorgeous, guitar-strumming Noah. Suddenly Penny is falling in love - and capturing every moment of it on her blog.
But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover - and her closest friendship - forever.
It sounds amazing, and I can't wait to read it!!!

Third. Modern Family rewatch.

As you may be aware I'm currently rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But I put a pause on that while my room is getting painted. So I decided to also start another rewatch! Two at once, crazy times! I'm a big fan of sitcoms, and this is one of my favourites!! This is one of those shows that just puts me in better spirits after I watch it. It's funny, but also heartwarming. I really love the family dynamic between this crazy family. When I first started watching this show, I didn't realize it was about a whole family. I had thought it was just about three separate families. (Not sure why I thought that, hopefully I wasn't the only one..)

But it's Jay (played by Ed O'Neil) and his two kids, Claire (Julie Bowen) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who are related and then each of their families. Jay just recently remarried when the show starts to Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and he gains a stepson in Manny (Rico Rodriguez). Then there's Claire and her husband of 16 years, Phil (Ty Burrell) and their three kids, Haley (Sarah Hyland), Alex (Ariel Winter), and Luke (Nolan Gould). And of course, Mitchell's boyfriend of 5 years, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) who just adopted their daughter, Lily.

It's a really good show!! I recommend it if you're looking for something that doesn't take long to watch, and something that's going to make you laugh and make you feel better. For me, some days this becomes the perfect medication.

What are things you've been loving this week?

Bodycon Daisy dress

Saturday, 21 June 2014

This outfit felt very Spice Girls to me, so I ended it on a classic Spice Girls pose!

Dress: Forever 21 (similar in style) | Shoes: Le Chateau (similar) | Sunglasses: Le Chateau (N/A)

I got this dress a while back, but haven't really worn it yet. I'm not use to body hugging dresses, but I loved this one. It reminded me a little bit of the dresses the Spice Girls use to wear. So I felt like I was capturing my childhood a bit in this.

Who were your childhood idols?

White Summer floral dress

Friday, 20 June 2014

(had to take the TV down, getting ready to paint the room)

Dress: Forever 21 | Shoes: Forever 21 | Sunglasses: Le Chateau (N/A)

When I saw this dress on the website I didn't even think about it, I just put it in my cart. I love it!! I love the colours on it and the details. I thought it was just a really nice summer dress. Especially paired with the gorgeous flats that I also bough right away (even though my size wasn't available, had to go up .5).

Do you have a go-to Summer dress?

Tuesday, 17 June 2014

I just wanted to take a moment to let you guys in on a few things going on with this blog, and the blogger behind it.

One. I will be changing the blog template soon. As much as I really do love this one, I need a change. I will forever appreciate all the help that Kristy (the creator) gave me, in helping me set up this template. I really looked around and when I saw the one I'm going to get, I just fell in love with it and I kept going back to it, that made me decide that I have to do it. So look out for that soon!

Two. Next week I'm going to be painting my room!! First step in my room renovations, I could not be more excited! Changing the pink to a soft yellow!

Three. Something that I've secretly dreamed about doing for years is 95% going to happen! I'm going to start my own YouTube channel. I'm beyond nervous because it's something I've wanted to do but never thought I was confident or creative enough to do. I have an idea about what I want to do, but ever time I'm about to do, I chicken out! So I'm hoping that I don't and I think announcing it motivates me to actually go through with it! We'll see!!

That's all for now!! Thanks for reading!

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday, 15 June 2014

I don't mean to brag or anything but my dad is the coolest dad ever!! I always grew up thinking my dad was the greatest man I knew, and I still think that to this day. Total daddy's little girl, I know!

I also think my dad is the funniest! He always makes me laugh, and I always felt like I got my sense of humour from him. Life is not always easy, but if you work hard and do your best than that's what matters. So make sure to keep your wits, and whenever things might get to be too much, find something that will make you laugh. As cheesy as it may sound, laughter is the best medicine!

As I said in my Mother's Day post, I feel very fortunate when it comes to my parents. I feel like I lucked out! I realize that for some people that's not always the case. But sometimes family doesn't have to biological, you can make your own family. So whoever it is that you celebrate this day with, make sure to give them a hug and let them know that you love them!

First time meeting my dad:
This is just one of the many weird photos I have of him! My weirdness is from genetics ;)
This is the only semi-normal picture I have on my computer, and it was taken by surprise!

Happy Father's Day Dad!! I love you!
Thanks for reading!

Books, books, books!!

Saturday, 14 June 2014

I absolutely love reading! I just really enjoy getting lost in a fictional world. I don't like the feeling of not having a book on the go. Once I finish one, I want to start another. Sometimes I can finish a book in a day, and other times it can take up to a couple of weeks but as long as I have one that I'm reading then I'm good.

I have many books on the reading list currently, but I think I'll save that very long list for another time. For now, here's the three books that I just finished, that I'm currently reading and then the one I plan to read after. Kind of a past, present, future in books!

Past (just finished): The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Have I made it known just how much I love The Fault in Our Stars yet? I re-read this one so I could have it fresh in my mind when I saw the movie which was fantastic!! I highly recommend this if by some chance you haven't read this yet. I just got my mom to start reading it! I'm trying so hard to not pester her into telling what she thinks so far.

Present (currently reading): Brunette Ambition by Lea Michele.

Not the tradition style book, but I read one chapter a night right before bed and I've been really enjoying it so far. I adore Lea Michele, I always have ever since I got into Glee, 5 years ago. I just think she's so inspiring, talented and just overall lovely. Reading her story has only made me love her even more. She's a gem!

Future (next on the reading list): The Maze Runner by James Dashner.

Well I am a big Dylan O'Brien fan! If you have seen him in anything, particularly Teen Wolf, then you must know that it's impossible to not love him. He's going to be in the movie adaption of this book as the lead character in September. I watched the trailer, and I found it really interesting so I thought I'd read the book before I see the movie.

And those are the books that I currently have on my reading list!
What books are you reading? What's your favourite book?

Thanks for reading!
