"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Garretts. All the time."

The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, messy, affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs up next to her and changes everything.

As the two fall fiercely for each other, stumbling through the awkwardness and awesomeness of first love, Jase's family embraces Samantha - even as she keeps him a secret from her own. Then something unthinkable happens, and the bottom drops out of Samantha's world. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?

A transporting debut about family, friendship, first romance, and how to be true to one person you love without betraying another.

My Review:

I adored this book!! I thought it was really cute and fluffy which is what I love to read in the summer. This is my second Huntley Fitzpatrick book, and I just really love her books and her writing style. The characters are so well written and relatable. I think this is my new favourite of hers. I really did love What I Thought Was True, but I just liked this one a little bit more!

I really loved Samantha as the narrative character. I thought she was sweet and smart, and just an overall good person.Jase Garrett is one of those male characters that are too good to be true which is why you can't help but love him! I want a Jase Garrett in my life! I also love the whole Garrett family. They were all so unique and fun to read. I can't wait to read The Boy Most Likely to so that I can get more of a glimpse into the Garrett family life.

The love story between Sam and Jase was the best, of course. It was sweet and real! They had an instant connection which became first love. I also loved the storyline throughout the whole book, it was cute and sweet for the first half and then some drama happens that gets you hooked to find out what happens.

Very good book! Would highly recommend for a good summer read.

Read it.And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.

Rating: 4/5

My Review:

I wasn't sure about this book when I first started it, but I quickly got into and it was captivating as the main character, Cady, tries to uncover the truth about what happened one summer at her family's private island.

For the most part, I liked Cady and I like the way the story was written by E. Lockhart in that because it was a mystery to Cady, it was a mystery for us and we were along the ride with her, learning as she does throughout the book. I also really loved the "Liars" and their dynamic with each other, each of them had their own uniqueness.

The ending!! Without saying anything, it was quite shocking! I wasn't expecting it, and then as I read it and how it all unfolded, it made sense to me. I'm not sure yet whether I liked it or not, but it was one of those twists that even if you hated it, it still left you gripping to find out more and because of that I thought it was a good twist, if that makes sense.

I enjoyed this book, it was an easy read but a good one. I really liked the way the writer wrote this story, and I'd love to read more from her in the future.

My Review:

After another big reading slump, I finally read through the whole book yesterday. I really enjoyed it!! Alfie has always been one of my favourite YouTubers ever since I started watching his videos near the end of 2013. He's such a genuine and fun person to watch that it's been amazing to watch his journey and popularity grow.

While his first two books were lots of fun, I love that this book gave you more stories about Alfie and his life growing up, and how he got started with YouTube and lots of memories he had long the way with his books, and the tours and fun things he's gotten up to. I loved reading things and as a viewer, remembering the daily vlogs from those moments!

As always, Alfie's books comes with an app that you download for free and it lets you scan pages throughout the book to offer never before seen videos and pictures. I love how cool and creative that is!!

I'll never stop being a fan of Alfie's! I can't wait to see what he comes up with next, and I'm happy to be there along the way as one of his many viewers.
