My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

My Review:

Such a good book, and a very easy read. Could've easily read this in one sitting. I like when chapters aren't long  because it makes you feel like you can keep going, and next thing you know you're half way through the book. I also liked the little added bits in the book, like the little drawings Maddy would do. Or seeing the online conversations in a different format since Maddy and Olly's relationship is built online at first since Maddy can't go outside. I also like when books add a little something extra.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Maddy and Olly, I thought they were really great together and I like that he made her want to take a chance and live more. But at the same time you're constantly worried for her because of this disease that she has. I found that interesting that throughout the book you wanted her to be with Olly but at the same time you don't know how they could be together, so I liked seeing how that was all handled. Of course there's a twist in the end, which I'm not going to share, you'll just have to read it, but I will say that I liked it and how it was handled.
